DHS continues to have needs to use commercial hotels to address the ongoing demand for shelter. As of 6/9, DHS is contracting providers for the use of 25 hotels in Queens 12.
Statement from Source Document / POA
DHS will actively review citywide shelter capacity needs on a quarterly basis to determine whether any contracts for Jamaica area commercial hotels can be terminated. Through 2027, DHS will submit quarterly written reports on the number of hotels that are being used as shelters to Community Board 12 and make these reports publicly available.
