Provide Coordinated Community Link Services
Statement from Source Document / POA
To address quality of life concerns, the NYPD, DSNY, and DHS will maintain a sustained, coordinated presence in the Downtown Jamaica area via Community Link.
- Recurring NYPD and DSNY joint operations with Sanitation to address illegal vending and parking will focus enforcement and outreach efforts along the Archer Avenue corridor, Rufus King Park, and the LIRR Jamaica Station area.
- The Department of Homeless Services will conduct daily canvassing in priority areas where unhoused individuals were observed, including 149th Street (95th to 97th Avenue), 148th Street (Archer to Jamaica), and Rufus King Park, to connect individuals with shelter and services.
- The Department of Sanitation will carry out more frequent cleaning and enforcement operations across the corridor, with particular attention to 149th Street (95th to 97th Avenue) and the side streets between Archer and Jamaica Avenues.
- The Department of Buildings will continue weekly proactive inspections of construction sites and vacant lots in the area to ensure safety and compliance.
