York College will activate the Archer Avenue Archway at 159th Street, creating a public space. This will be a key gateway between York College and Downtown Jamaica, at the easternmost edge of the Archer Avenue Bus Terminal. It will link commuting students directly to the York College Learning Center, the Child and Family Center, Classroom Building and the Queens High School for the Sciences in a pedestrian-only entrance. The improvements will include overhead lighting, public art, seating, and event space.
