Status Update
The reconstruction of the 157th Street playground multipurpose play area was completed in March 2026. The design of the track, synthetic turf field and paths is complete and permitting and legal review of the contract are in progress.

The northernmost tip of Baisley Pond Park is located within a half mile of the rezoning area, providing a gateway for Jamaica residents to over 100 acres of natural spaces, active recreation opportunities and space to gather and build community. NYC Parks has three capital projects underway in Baisley Pond Park:
