Status Update

The NYC Parks capital improvement projects at Detective Keith Williams Park have entered procurement and are being reviewed and prepared for solicitation. DOT's research on pedestrian safety surrounding the park is underway.

Detective Keith L. Williams Park is an athletics destination in South Jamaica, with sports courts and fields for variety of sports. To refresh this important community park, NYC Parks is using funding dedicated by the Mayor, Borough President and City Council to reconstruct the synthetic turf field, track, bleachers, tennis court pavements, play equipment, spray showers, seating, and add green infrastructure. The project has just completed design and is about to start the process of bringing on a contractor to reconstruct the facilities.

DOT will study potential treatments to improve pedestrian access and safety around the park, specifically at the following park entrances:
