Consultant has begun early stages of data collection to inform traffic study

Based on feedback from Council Member Williams, NYC DOT is planning to do an areawide traffic study of Jamaica, which will provide a comprehensive look at the travel environment in and around the Greater Jamaica area. The agency will bring a consultant onboard to perform this analysis, which will include corridors such as Jamaica and Archer Avenues, Merrick Blvd and Hillside Ave, resulting in a final report that may inform future projects.
Funding: $700 thousand expense.
