Statement from Source Document / POA
DOT, DCLA and MTA (including MTA Arts & Design) will also work with the Council Member and other local cultural organizations and stakeholders on a community engagement process to scope public art that can be installed in the terminal area and/or applied to the LIRR walls in the area between 150th Street and 160th Street. The goal of this project is to beautify the bus terminal and give it a more distinctive visual identity. Through this process, a public art plan will be created, with up to $3 million in City capital to support its implementation, either through a standalone arts project (with MTA’s license agreement support) or incorporation into the scope of DOT’s teardrop plaza capital project.
Funding: $3 million
