Statement from Source Document / POA

HPD will partner with the Center for New York City Neighborhoods to do targeted outreach to Jamaica households to pilot the new resiliency audit program which provides customized in-home flood risk assessments to homeowners free of charge and connects them to financial counseling and funding resources, such as New York State Homes and Community Renewals’ Resilient Retrofits Program. Resilient Retrofits offers low- or no-interest loans for low- and moderate-income single-family homeowners in flood-prone areas to carry out a range of flood mitigation retrofits. HPD will also work with local council members and residents to assess the need for new, tailored programs to better support Jamaica homeowners with flood prevention and mitigation.

As part of Local Law 87 of 2025, DOB staff will be available to answer questions about flooding and flood adaptation during its regular outreach sessions.
