Chair Southeast Queens flooding adaptation assistance task force

Pursuant to Local Law 87 of 2025, DEP will chair an interagency task force focused on Southeast Queens flooding adaptation assistance. The task force, which will include representatives from HPD and DOB as well as members appointed by the Public Advocate and the City Council, will recommend changes to the laws, regulations, and policies that could facilitate the implementation of measures to mitigate vulnerability to flooding in southeast Queens. The task force will hold annual public meetings and issue annual reports for five years.
